Sevenoaks Landscaping (Kent) Ltd and the Environment

We pride ourselves on our approach to wildlife and biodiversity in our gardens. The Director of Sevenoaks Landscaping; Edward Fraser BA(hons) spent 3 years at the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside completing a degree in environmental studies, specifically concentrating on the english countryside and the pressures of amenity and commercial interests on habitats and the species within. Working on a commercial fruit farm, followed by a spell in arable and livestock farming, brought experience to the theory. Having returned to Sevenoaks in 1997 and setting up in landscape and horticultural gardening, Edward attended evening classes at Hadlow College and completed a 2 year course, The RHS Diploma of Horticulture which encompassed many aspects of environmental impact assessment, plant pathology, soil sciences and native habitats. Based on all this experience the policy of Sevenoaks Landscaping (Kent) Ltd is to maximise the diversity of plant, bird, animal and insect species in a garden and use this diversity to control the populations of pest species and diseases. If chemical herbicides or fungicides have to be used then specific targeting compounds are used in preference to broad spectrum controls if at all possible. We do not apply pesticides and have no need to due to well thought out planting schemes and practices.
